Every ripe tomato was the same size, she said,
And each carrot the same colour,
It was unbelievable!
They were lined up in perfect rows,
They all tasted soo damn sweet,
Their watery hearts,
And piddly lungs,
Like the purest-looking sugar,
The batch with most bleach.
And the air sat heavy, putrid, still;
Reminded me of the future.
